Just like P Money this week with his track 'Everything' featuring Vince Harder. Not only did it hit the # 1 spot in the singles chart again this week, and became the # 2 most played song in the country (behind Kings of Leon), it has also just been certified GOLD... which equals 7500+ sales.
This is another Dirty release which is a digital only single so its great to see the digital sales increasing all the time to help level out the decline in physical sales. Its not quite there yet, but news like this makes us very happy ;0)
If you haven't bought it yet, help us out.... you can get it on Vodafone and Telecom on your handsets, and online at itunes, digirama and Amplifier. Here is the Amplifier link to make it nice and easy...

We are off to celebrate this evening thanks to MTV, their immaculate timing and their 'Just For Kicks' party. We love parties, and we love MTV, they are amazingly supportive of all our artists.
Perhaps some sore heads tomorrow morning.

The Long Weekend
Hope everyone had a fabulous long weekend... we had artists playing all over the show.
Tiki played with Tahuna Breaks at Coroglen to a 2000 strong crowd! Nice turnout.
PNC was down in Wellington playing SuperClub at Shooters with Chong Nee, Awa Nesian and Young Sid, along with others... I hear Percieve was heading there also to do a little guest slot.
P Money and Bulletproof played a D&B night at Soho in Gisborne. Soho is one of the best little venues around I think, amazing location, sound system and food, and staff that are totally on the ball. Their scallops with fish roe definitely rank as one of the best things we tasted on the Concord Dawn Twilight tour. Of course most of it was food on the go so to sit down and have a decent meal at any stage stood out!
The majority of our artists are booked by Strike Agency, so if you're ever wondering what is coming up tour wise, check out the link below which has the most up to date confirmed shows:

Turning Back The Clock # 1
First up is State Of Mind, because i currently have a screen capture of their new video as my desktop and its causing me all sorts of excitement about what the finished product will be like.
The guys only have one video so far of their tunes, and its for the immaculate 'Sunking'. Definitely the crowd favourite whenever the guys play it.
The video was made for us by Aleks Sakowski aka boy wonder who created an amazing stop motion animation story to go with the tune.
In terms of stop motion you can't go past Tim Burton's Corpse Bride for a full length feature but Aleks is definitely up there with his Tool inspired take on Sunking.
Check it out here:
Aleks is in the driving seat again for the second video, which comes from their second album, due out in March. The track is called Silver Surfer and I'd try and explain the concept to you but as its a tad complex I'll do it no justice at all so you'll just have to wait and see. It will be debuted on Wednesday 5th November on C4's Select Live, at about 5pm.
If you want to see Silver Surfer live and you live near Christchurch (or are willing to fly there....) then Southern Amp Festival 08 is the one - on Sunday 9th November at the Westpac Arena. State Of Mind, Concord Dawn and Tiki DJ/MC are all playing. Along with a host of others of course... should be a great day.

Two Out of Three Ain't Bad....
Our lovely friends at Sticky Pictures, who share the office with us at dirty sticky misery HQ, gave us a chocolate cake today with that sentiment on it.
Stolen words yes from the 80's again but a fairly fitting phrase considering that there have only been three NZ Number One singles this year.... and we have had two of them!
Tiki's 'Always On My Mind' had the Number One spot for two weeks in July, and P Money hit the top spot last week with 'Everything'.
The third contender was Nesian Mystik with their song 'Nesian 101' which got the # 1 spot in August.
Not bad for a little label ;0)

David dot Dallas in the studio
DD is in the studio working on tracks for his album. From what we have heard so far its going to be a blinder!
He's posted some footage anyway of Aaradhna doing some vocals for him, check it out here:
Obviously some of our artists have huge 80's influences going on in their music (yes pn sizzle that is directed at you) and this reminds me of some of my favourite songs from that era... personally one of mine was A-Ha's Take On Me. Fabulous. So while i was hunting down the video on trusty youtube i found this hilarious 'literal' take on the video. Made me laugh anyway...

Number 1!!!!!!!
WOOP WOOP.... We've just been told that P-Money's single featuring Vince Harder, 'Everything', has hit # 1 on the NZ singles chart this week! Plus its the most played NZ song at radio this week.
Outstanding news...! And thank you all for your support.
All in all a great week in the charts for Dirty Management as Tiki's single 'Always On My Mind' has jumped back up the charts to # 8 and his album has also risen back up to # 5. Meaning we have the top NZ singles and albums in the charts this week ;0)
If you haven't seen it already head over to Pete's blog where he's posted the remixes of 'Everything' - a couple of Magik Johnson remixes (one a dub mix, and the other a vocal one) and the other a rap remix featuring Scribe, PNC, David Dallas and Vince.

And Scribe makes it 5.... years in a row!
A little late on this one as I took Thursday and Friday off, but huge congratulations to our to winners on the night, Tiki for Best Aotearoa Roots album and Scribe for Best Hip Hop Album!
Both also wowed the crowd with incredible performances on the night. Tiki opened up with Te Pou O Mangatawhiri and the Shifters boys with a totally stunning version of 'Tangaroa'. Scribe followed up later with 'Say It Again' with Tyra Hammond and the Opensouls.
A very fun night had by all! And an amazing achievement by Dirty Records taking out the Best Hip Hop album for the fifth year in a row!!! Scribe's Rhymebook following in the footsteps of P-Money's 'Magic City', Scribe's 'The Crusader', Frontline's 'Borrowed Time' and PNC's 'Rookie Card'.
Excellent work gentlemen!
Some photo's of the evening are below:

Bits and Bobs
We're on countdown now until the music awards on Wednesday night and things are definitely picking up pace!
The Dirty Crew are set to walk the red carpet at 6pm or near thereabouts so keep an eye out on C4 and fingers crosssed for big wins for Tiki and Scribe.
This week is all taken up by the rehearsals and awards and i am out also on thursday and friday so we'll update you with winners on Monday. And some stories of the night i'm sure.
In the meantime if you want some entertainment head over to David Dallas' blog for the audio of his quiz against Mareko on Pop Goes The Weasel, or go onto Youtube and search for 'Diesel - Almost Naked'. Best ad on the internet.

The photographic evidence
Haha following on from the carnage that was the Juice Awards I have stolen a couple of Shannon's photo's to show you all...

Tiki and Shannon with their awards... still fairly well behaved

Callum, Shannon and Dave... it has begun (Callum has no memory whatsoever of this photo, could have been something to do with the chartreuse shots)

Excellent...
